The selling point was the word instant, and it helps that it cooks up thick and pretty tasty. :)

Short and sweet: This oatmeal is delicious...none better; however, you can get it in any supermarket for around five dollars and quite often in the discount stores for less than that. I love Roland Products, but the price here is waaay out of line.

McCANN'S Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, 28-Ounce Tins (Pack of 6)

If you follow the cooking directions, in my opinion, you have wallpaper paste. Cut the cooking time from 30 minutes to 20 minutes, and it is much better - a little chewy, but that's how I like it! Breakfast takes more planning now, since it's a longer cooking time than my old brand - but good taste and worth it.

McCANN'S Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, Quick & Easy, 24-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6)

This is a very good oatmeal. I normally eat steel cut oats and noticed these have a quicker cooking time than the original style oats. My wife picked this up for me, and after trying it, I can attest that it does cook quickly. It has a little different texture than regular steel cut oats, which are crunchier and nuttier. These are cut a little finer than the regular steel cuts, which would probably account for the quicker cooking time. For the consumer who has previously tried steel cut oats and Scottish oatmeal, the texture of these oats are in between the two. They're not cut quite as fine as Scottish oats, but they're definitely cut finer than regular steel cuts.Overall, these are definitely worth a try. I would still prefer the crunchier texture of regular steel cut oats, but these are definitely worth giving a try, especially if you don't want to have a long cooking time.

McCann's Irish Instant Oatmeal, Maple and Brown Sugar, 15.1-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)

My husband has been eating this oatmeal since he was diagnosed with celiac disease many years ago. We've tried many other brands, but this is the tastiest and the only kind that we feel confident is gluten free. I used to be able to buy it in all the grocery stores and health food stores and for some reason it was no longer available.A search on-line led me to Amazon and we buy several cases at a time. Please don't ever stop carrying it! It's all my husband eats for breakfast during the winter.

Mccanns Irish Oatmeal, 28-Ounce Tin (Pack of 4)

All I can say is that I've been a happy consumer of this brand for over 13 years. The first one lasted for about 6 years (I was a rough user the first time) and the current one is running for its 8th year. This model I think was my first one, and currently I use the 'IH' kind. I personally don't 'taste' any difference, but just the fact that the 'IH' one is overlasting the previous one for whatever reason and that it's considerate to English speaker and is bilingual is what makes me like it better than this model. But, hey, it also needs to be put into consideration that it's priced nearly half of the 'IH'.I also bought one for my mother-in-law, who is a Mexican woman that happens to LOVE brown rice, and she's been a big fan of this product for 5 years now. So, my point is, it's a BETTER THAN A GREAT PURCHASE. Another note, which you might find most helpful, probably, is that, sorry to amazon, but you will find much reduced price and more selections of Cuckoo at kimchius.com. Don't worry, for the most part, the English is used throughout the website. :)
